December 2022

Dear praying family!

Happy New Year!

We have a few pictures for you and some video clips with interesting news, here

Hard not to feel the wind beneath our wings propelling us into this new year fed by your thoughtful prayers and generous support for the last 12 months. Thank you for partnering with us in Jesus’ name.

We give thanks to the Lord that the northern part of Peru was mostly unaffected by the violent riots that paralyzed states south from Lima. The month-long state of emergency in those states continues to guarantee military presence that allowed for peaceful holidays so far. We were blessed to continue our end of the year responsibilities that, as expected for December, converge in ways that’s almost hard to keep up.

We direct you to our pictures where we have a summary of how most of our activities got developed during December, remembering that we have a summer recess, school ends with graduation after graduation, and Christmas is in the air. December is a busy season indeed! Please go and see how things went in December!

We leave you with a list of items to pray for:

·Our colaborers Jared and Claudia and their baby son Joshua are back in Lima hoping to get the much-needed operation done this week. Before Christmas they couldn’t do it because their baby had an infection. The infection has cleared for over a week. We are all hopeful they get the procedure completed before they come back to us.

·There is a call to resume national protesting on January 4th. The first wave left 28 people dead. Hopefully the military police still patrolling the more aggressive states will prevent a resurgence of this sort of violence.

·Our daughter Abigail is leaving us and traveling back to college on January 5th. We pray for all roads to be opened and that the national airport would still be open.

·Pablo along with 3 others will be traveling to the jungle on January 5th. Brother Iggi Choi coming from NY is one of his companions along with two others from the local assembly here in Trujillo. Pablo will meet up brother Iggi in Lima and then fly to the jungle. There will be various means to get to their destination by the end of the day. Pray for safety on the roads and the rivers to be cleared and airports to remain open.

·Pray for the convention of river churches from January 5th-8th. The organizers requested 6 messages around “gender ideology and the church.” I am aiming to develop their request addressing: “the lunacy and consequences of rejecting God’s revelation,” “what is gender ideology,” “gender roles before and after the fall,” “what a biblical family looks like,” and “what is the church going to do to face the challenges of this demonic movement.” Your prayers are much appreciated to nail these themes leaning more on what the Lord says about man, woman, family, marriage, etc. The organizers called to let me know that they are sacrificing two large bulls for the 4 days and that many hope I bring a doctor and a dentist with me. Unfortunately, no dentist or general practitioners were free to accompany me. But we are loaded with the Word!

·From January 8th-21st we have our annual teaching for Christian leaders in Trujillo. I will be teaching on Basic Christian doctrine, please pray for that.

·From January 23rd-28th more teaching in Chiclayo (5 hours north from Trujillo) to Christian leaders in the region. I will be teaching Genesis and Christology.

·Pray that all traveling will be done without delay or major challenges. Again, we hear rumors that protesting across the nation will resume on Jan 4th. We pray that’s not so.

·Pray for those coming to stay with us during this season of teaching. We expect to host teachers and students from Peru and other countries.

·Pray for our daughter Gabriela as we celebrate her 16th birthday on January 9th.

Love in Him,

Pablo & Sarah CT
