In 1993, Denny and Arlene (with their 2-year-old son) moved to Mexico to work with Ted and Priscilla Clark who were church planting in Salamanca, Guanajuato. For two years they were in training—adjusting to the culture, studying the language, and growing in their ability to share the gospel and disciple in the Mexican culture. The next 15 years were spent in Morelia, Michoacán where they saw God raise up two churches. God also brought an additional 4 children into their quiver. In 2009, they moved to the northwest coast of Oregon to continue the work of church planting among Spanish speakers. In the town of Cannon Beach, Oregon, a small group was getting together for a Bible study. After the Norrises arrived, this group increased as some of the non-believing husbands came to faith in Christ, and other new families also began studying the Bible and trusted in Christ. Today, there is an assembly of about 60 believers (including children) from the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Michoacán. While the Norrises continue to evangelize and disciple, their hope is to train and see God raise up elders to shepherd this flock. Denny & Arlene continue to support the churches in Mexico by visiting and staying in touch with the elders and missionaries in the area where they worked. They also now have additional opportunities to share the gospel in Mexico with the families of those who have come to faith in the United States. The Norris family appreciates your prayers.

February 2019:
Thanks for praying for the Valentine’s Day Outreach. Around 20 guests attended the event which included a meal, a brief gospel presentation, and the movie “Fireproof”. Besides preparing the food, the church did an amazing job making the guests feel welcome and providing special details such as Valentine dessert, decorations, child care, and even popcorn for the movie.
