About This Fund

On 6 February 2023, a 7.8 earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria. In Turkey, there were 50,783 deaths, 297 missing and 107,204 injured across 11 of the 17 affected provinces of Turkey. At least 15.73 million people and 4 million buildings were affected. Many are now living in tents, makeshift shelters, and cars. The magnitude 7.8 quake was among the strongest to strike the area in over a century. Multiple other earthquakes have rattled the region since the initial quake.

While the news media has moved on, and we hear very little about the recovery efforts from the massive earthquakes in the southern part of Turkey and northern Syria, the Lord is doing tremendous work in the region. Believers in the region of Antakya have mobilized with support from the CMML Disaster Fund and funds from our partners in England and Australia to start a small shelter project. Many more are doing amazing work among those who have been affected by providing food, clothes, and shelter.

Please continue to pray for the believers there as they establish relationships and show the love of the Gospel in a country where 99% of the population is considered unreached as yet by the Gospel.

If you would like to contribute to the relief efforts, you may do so through CMML's “Disaster Relief – Turkey” fund.
