ESL Teachers at a diverse International School

Imagine learning in a language other than your heart language. We are looking for qualified individuals who will work with our students one-on-one or in small group settings on English language development and partner with our teaching staff to enhance their knowledge in utilizing EAL strategies in their classrooms.

GDQ - Who are we?

GDQ International Christian School is located in Tirana, Albania. We seek to provide a Christ-centered education for the missionary and international business community. We have around 150 students from 16 plus countries. To provide you with a glimpse of our school, here is a link to our school video -- https://youtu.be/xMlbtR4j-H0

How did we get here?

GDQ’s founders were among the first missionary families in Albania after the fall of communism in 1991. The school started with six preschoolers and one teacher. As the missionary community quickly grew, the need arose for a larger, yet affordable program. GDQ began in the fall of 1993, encouraged by God’s obvious intervention. The rest is history!

What does GDQ stand for?

GDQ is proud to take its name from Gjerasim D. Qiriazi (1858-1894), an influential Albanian patriot and evangelical Christian. He established the first school for girls in Albania, seeking to build Christian principles into the next generation of mothers, whom he regarded as the most influential people in Albanian society. Qiriazi endured political and spiritual persecution but remained faithful to his convictions.

What is Albania like?

Imagine the mountains visible from your balcony, breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea less than an hour away, amazing food, and the warmth of a Cappuccino each morning. And I haven't even mentioned traditional Albanian folk dancing. This is one of the teachers favorite things to do at all-school events.
