Frequently Asked Questions
How are the Operating Expenses met for CMML each month if 100% of gifts sent to CMML are forwarded to the missionary?
CMML is a ministry of faith and we rely on the Lord to meet the Operating Expenses that are necessary to fund the office and Missionary Guest Home. We are thankful that these funds are provided through the generosity of the Lord’s people as they suggest part or their entire gift be used to help defray Operating Expenses. Funds to meet CMML’s operating expenses each month come from three sources: 1. Gifts from donor’s specifically designated for operating expenses. 2. Funds left to CMML by individuals who designate CMML as a beneficiary in their will or estate. 3. Income from investments.

Wall Township, New Jersey is approximately a one-hour drive from either New York City or Philadelphia. What is the history of the CMML building?
Built in 1930 as a private residence, the owner became disillusioned with ever increasing tax burdens on the sprawling 200 plus acres. After several failed attempts to have the town reduce this burden, the owner sold the building and 17 acres to the Sisters of Saint Joseph. In 1972, CMML acquired the building and moved the operation from New York City to Wall Township.
Are gifts sent to CMML tax deductible?
Yes. A tax deductible receipt is issued for all gifts received to be used for the missionaries, operating expenses or special funds administered by CMML such as the Disaster Fund.
How many full-time staff members work at CMML?
There are six full-time office personnel and a maintenance man that helps care for the upkeep of the building.
I want to serve as a missionary with your organization. How do I get started?
CMML serves assemblies connected with the Plymouth Brethren. Those sensing the leading of the Lord to serve as a missionary should share this with their assembly leadership. This should lead to a period of time for bringing this to the Lord in prayer. When it becomes increasingly clear of the Lord's leading, the leadership will prepare a letter of commendation. This letter affirms the call of the Lord on your life and the assembly, in turn, commends you to the Lord for His service. The letter is sent to CMML and is the initial step to being served by CMML. For more information, contact Phil Parsons at 732-449-8880, ext 104 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Why don’t I get an end-of-the-year statement with a total of my gifts for the past year?
CMML sends a tax-deductible receipt to a donor for each gift received and we request that the donor keep track of their annual donations. Our systems do not automatically produce an annual statement. Upon request we will provide you with a statement. Please contact the CMML office with your request.
How many missionaries stay in the Missionary Guest Home at CMML?
The number varies from week to week from none to as many as 20 to 25. We have an average of two to three missionary families a month. Summers are much busier as that is when most missionaries are coming and going for furlough. The Guest Home is available for “short stays” only (up to one month) when missionaries are passing through the area going to or coming from the field, or coming to meet with the staff at CMML. The Guest Home is not used to provide missionaries with living quarters for a long-term furlough.
What if I have other questions that have not been answered here?
Please call the CMML office at 732-449-8880, ext. 100
Is there a charge to assembly missionaries when they stay in the CMML Guest Home?
No. The funds to operate the Guest Home are provided through the generosity of the Lord’s people and we are thankful to the Lord when He meets these important needs in this way.
How many rooms are in the CMML Guest Home?
Comfortable accommodations from simple bedrooms, full suites and apartments with kitchen facilities are available. We have three "five-star" rooms in the old mansion, four small two single-bed rooms, one room with a double bed with shared restrooms, two family style apartments –one sleeping up to 10; the other can sleep six.
Do missionaries stay in the Guest Home year round?
The home is open year round but missionaries only come for short-term stays of a few days up to one month, and usually when they are going to or coming from their field of service, or if they are coming in to meet with the CMML staff.
How can I include CMML in my estate planning?

How do I buy a Missionary Prayer Handbook?

How can I volunteer at CMML?
You may contact the CMML office at 732-449-8880, ext. 108 for details about the needs and how you might be able to help as a volunteer.
Can I specifically “designate” a gift to go to an individual missionary?
We appreciate when a donor includes a “suggestion” as to how they would like their gift to be used. Since the Internal Revenue Service requires that the directors of a non-profit organization like CMML have the responsibility for determining how to distribute gifts that are received, a specific “designation” made by a donor cannot be guaranteed. However, a “suggestion” for the use of a gift is most helpful as the directors make these important decisions.
