Killins, Brian & Sheran
About Us
We have been involved in making disciples in Colombia for 46 years. As we have ministered with thousands of Colombians and a few other missionaries, God has raised up twenty-eight autonomous, interdependent assemblies in Bogotá, and four groups in other parts of Colombia.
I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and my life centered on sports. Sheran grew up in Indianapolis. She came to Christ in high school after scoliosis surgery and a year in Walter Reed army hospital. I came to faith in Christ at the age of 20 at the University of Wisconsin, and Sheran and I met while involved in the Navigator ministry. We were married in 1972. While getting a Masters degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois, we got involved in Arlington Countryside Church (now called Pathway Church). In 1977 they commended us to the ministry in Bogotá, Colombia, and we’ve been making disciples, planting and building up churches ever since.
Somewhere in there we did a doctorate in missiology. We are grateful for those who have so faithfully prayed and supported the ministry here. We sometimes are not sure how we’re going to make it through the next twenty-four hours. So how did we raise four children (Ruth-47, Susana-45, Betsy-43, Samuel-40), and see them continuing to grow in the Lord and serving Him? Thank you, Lord.
About 52 times per year there is a message that is edifying the body of Christ in each of a score of congregations (Acts 2:42). God provides for dozens of congregations to be self-supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating. Being sanctified by the Word of God and prayer continues to happen in discipleship groups each week (1 Timothy 4:4, 5). Musicians continue to develop who do contemporary Christian music and worship in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23, 24). God is great!
