What We Believe

Statement of Faith

1. The Bible, both the Old and New Testament, is given by inspiration of God and is inerrant in its original writings. (II Timothy 3:16-17)

2. There is One God, invisible and sovereign, eternally existing in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29; Matthew 28:19)

3. Jesus Christ is God the Son, begotten by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and born both Man and God. (Luke 1:26-38; John 10:30; Colossians 2:9)

4. God created the heavens and the earth, and God created people, male and female, in His image. (Genesis 1:1-27)

5. All people (apart from Jesus Christ) have sinned and fallen short of God's standard, and the result of sin is death. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23)

6. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, taught and ministered in His years on earth, and His teachings are the moral foundation of our lives. (Matthew 7: 24 – 28)

7. Jesus Christ died for our sins when crucified on Calvary. (I Corinthians 15:3)

8. Jesus Christ is raised from the dead; He is ascended into Heaven; He is now seated at the right hand of God, and is Lord of all. (I Corinthians 15:4; Ephesians 1:20; Hebrews 1:3)

9. We are saved by faith in Christ Jesus, unto eternal life, apart from works or religious observances. There is no way unto salvation except by faith in Christ Jesus. (John 3:16, Acts 4: 10 – 12, Romans 3:21-28; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9)

10. The Church is composed of all who are saved by faith in Christ and is made one through the working of the Holy Spirit. (I Corinthians 12:4-31)

11. The Church is commissioned to preach and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world for the purpose of leading persons to salvation and making disciples. (Matthew 28: 18 – 20; Acts 1: 7, 8).

12. We await the personal and soon coming of the Lord Jesus and the resurrection of the dead, of the just unto Life, and the unjust unto condemnation. (Acts 1:10-11; John 5:24-29; John 14:1-6; I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
