About Us

Eleanor grew up on the mission field in central Africa, the third daughter of pioneer missionaries, Wallace and Ruth Logan. After attending Sakeji School in Zambia, she completed teachers training in Cape Town, South Africa and returned to the work of the Lord at Chavuma Mission. She was commended by assemblies in New Jersey in 1953. John Sims, son of British pioneer missionaries to the region, was serving the Lord there. The Lord brought John and Eleanor together in marriage in 1954. They served the Lord together in missionary work for 52 years, 20 years in Zambia and 32 years in Zimbabwe. They had the privilege of teaching God’s precious Word to many in their own language and had the joy of seeing souls saved and faithful assembly testimonies established. They translated Emmaus Bible Correspondence Courses into Shona, the local language there and these were much used of the Lord throughout the country and in the many prisons in Zimbabwe. They returned to USA permanently in 2003 for health reasons and refocused in Pittsboro Christian Village in North Carolina. John went Home to be with the Lord in 2005. Eleanor continues to be involved in the work in Zimbabwe in translation work and in ministering to them in their continuing suffering. Here she enjoys helping in the Ladies Bible Studies and in grading of completed Emmaus Bible courses of many prisoners in the NC Prisons and in reaching out to others in the area with spiritual needs. Her six children are married and living for the Lord, two are in Africa, one in Ireland, and three in USA. In serving the Lord, Eleanor appreciates the faithful prayers of the Lord’s people, helpers-together by prayer.
