Ramirez, Javier & Mindy

Had you told either of us in February of 2018 that the volunteer who came to the orphanage would marry the administrator, we would have laughed! But here we are, happily married and loving serving God together! God's plans are so much better than our own. Javier studied to be a lawyer and didn't know how God would use that. Working at the orphanage showed him God's heart for orphans and how he can use his law degree to help them! He is currently the coordinator for family mentorship with an organization that works with young adults who grew up in orphanages. He helped find and match Christian families with these young people. The idea is to show them what a healthy family looks like and above all point them to Jesus! Mindy is enjoying using her educational background to help kids in a local orphanage. She has a huge open door to share the gospel. Loving the kids one on one makes a huge difference! We also have been able to help a few girls coming out of orphanages, along with the little brother of one of them. We enjoy attending our small assembly, Centro Biblico Roca Fuerte. Javier is helping to preach some Sundays. The Lord has blessed us with two sweet children, Lilia who was born in September of 2022 and Mateo who was born in July of 2024. Mindy is enjoying reaching out to young mom friends in this new season.
