April 2025

Dear praying family!

We’ve got wonderful pictures for you with more news than we can fit in our brief report. Please go see them here and keep us before the throne of grace!

We thank the Lord we were able to complete this report just in time for our daughter Hannah and I to wisely pack and then embark on a trip to Lima to firstly renew her passport a the US embassy, and then to receive a mission’s team from Lancaster Bible College. There are six people coming, including our daughter Abigail. We will be heading to the jungle village of Callanayacu to work together with the saints there building their chapel facility. We have a couple of guys, two hard workers, from the assembly here in Trujillo coming as well as two other brothers from the jungle assembly in San Luis. Sadly, we couldn’t get any medical professionals to accompany us to take care of medical needs during our weeklong trip. That means we will be single-mindedly tackling the soul with the Gospel and the soil with our picks and shovels. Yes, we already secured our daily visits to the K-12 school to “bombard” them with the Gospel, and the community during nightly open-air services. Hopefully we will get more than the foundation done as well.

A quick summary of the things we were engaged with in April as a preview of the pictures you are going to see: As we recall our preaching trip to the southern jungle, believers there need our prayers. They are being influenced by evangelicals of heavily charismatic persuasion. We returned home somewhat sick and then got very sick. Timothy and I passed our germs to the rest of the family. We got better in time to go and speak about Our Identity with the Cross in our annual family retreat for the assembly. This led us to celebrate believer’s baptism with new believers in two different sites. One of these sites is the new church plant in Menocucho that is excitedly looking to begin its first Sunday morning service this May 11th. We plan on taking our missions team from Lancaster to share with them then. As a family we celebrated two birthdays, Timothy’s and Hannah’s. This is just a fraction of what we have in our pictorial report, please go there and pray for us!
