Jerry Mattix

Jerry and Sarah Mattix, and their three children, have been living in the Middle East since 2001. Currently, they reside in Northern Cyprus, where they serve in a local church, reach out to students from across the Middle East, and write books in Turkish (and sometimes English) in which Jerry explains the Gospel to Muslims. In 2016, they began helping women fleeing life-threatening situations in their homes or countries. They provide young ladies a place to stay in Cyprus and scholarships to study at the local universities, while Sarah provides trauma counseling. They have helped eight women from Iraq and, since January 2022, have welcomed 16 women fleeing Afghanistan through their scholarship project, At Risk Women in the Middle East.
