Dear praying family!

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support! They have literally held us up before the throne of grace as we traveled through challenging routes to complete our ministry responsibilities from coast to jungle and back and hitting the mountains in between. Did you know that Peru has 28 of the world’s 32 climates? One week we were freezing in the high Andes and then the next we were in the blistering heat of the Amazon Forest region gasping for some kind of relief from a suffocating dry season. Through it all the Word of our Lord resonated with assuring confidence: The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. Thank the Lord for the consistency of His Word communicating hope, life, and comfort!
One of the most satisfying components of meeting believers in their special gatherings for church anniversaries or dedicated bible training is the unique chance to address a respectable number of church leaders in one place. Within the last few years in the northern mountains, many little churches have progressively tolerated the ways of the charismatic movement. Some are already way too deep into it that they hesitate to invite us to speak. By God’s grace, recent visits are beginning to refresh frozen connections that are now looking very promising. Our next trip up to the region is being strategically prepared to keep addressing these challenges primarily targeting the church leaders.
Though the number of leaders in the jungle was smaller compared to the mountains, still, the occasion called for envisioning better ways to meet the needs of those doing the work on the edges of the Huallaga River and beyond. Doing ministry in these remote places is immensely sacrificial. Literally all these leaders work in their fields under intense heat all day and then commit faithfully to serve with the church 3-4 nights a week. Proper Bible training is highly appreciated when it comes their way. Currently they are holding conferences twice a year for everyone willing to attend. The Emmaus assembly in the city of Tarapoto sponsored its 4th edition of Bible training specifically targeting elders. We happily agreed to come and teach these saints. The heat was indeed intense this time of the year. The fans keeping the warm air moving in the classrooms were greatly appreciated. We recognized most of those attending the training. Many we had visited and worked with in their villages when we built their chapel facilities in the last few years. Please pray for all that came and gladly received the lessons taught. We look forward to seeing these brothers in their villages for more teaching in the future.
There is plenty more news and prayer items in our pictorial report! They include: The Elliot Christian School’s 28th anniversary, our Selah’s 14th birthday, thieves attempting to steal our power lines at Hogar de Esperanza, Rina’s eye surgery, and more!
